About Us
Ottawa Hockey Development (OHD) based out of Ottawa, Ontario, operates and hosts drop-in, skill-based hockey sessions, offering children valuable opportunities to learn and refine skating, puck handling, shooting and defensive skills. Ottawa Hockey Development started with Nepean Hockey School in August 2017 and has grown from a small group of local families looking for extra ice time and skill training to a series of programs across the city! Through OHD, children will experience small area game situations, and will build their hockey skill set, in a positive, encouraging environment. Our Hockey Canada/HEO qualified coaching staff is committed to ensuring players both learn and enjoy his/her experience. OHD is protected by iPlayHockey Insurance Company.
Our Core Beliefs: At Ottawa Hockey Development we genuinely believe in the importance of physical activity and its benefits for physical, mental, and emotional health. We are proud to have offered and hosted thousands of hours of youth activity over the years. OHD is accessible to players of varying ages and skill levels. We aim to challenge, support, and develop players’ skills, abilities, and confidence on the ice.

James has over 25 years of coaching experience. He has Hockey Canada’s Coaching Levels One and Two, Skating I and a B.Sc in Human Kinetics and Bachelor of Education.

Tara-lynn WHITE
DIRECTOR, OHD
Tara-Lynn continues to lead the organization of session bookings, hosting, logistics, and session confirmations. She works closely with program directors and the coaching staff to ensure sessions are effective, engaging and organized.
